Although the books in this series (and really, all of Rebecca Zanetti’s books) aren’t marketed as humor and/or comedy, she always has me laughing. I swear, her alpha males and their feisty mates have me laughing out loud so often that my husband will ask if I’m reading another of “those vampire books”. (He calls them all that even though I tell him there are more than vampires in them.) My point is, even he knows it’s often her books that will have me laughing one minute and gasping in shock the next.

Once I realized, in previous books, that Simone had a history with Nick I could not wait to see how their story would unfold. I got all that I had hoped for, and more. This story takes so many twists and turns, it’s insane…in a good way. Nicholai and Simone have such a strong connection. Not only does their sexual chemistry leap off the page, they have a strong emotional connection that comes from years of loving one another (from afar). They slowly learn to trust each other again as this story progresses, but are they being totally open and honest even once that trust is reestablished?

Like I said, things get crazy. They mystery of the planekite is getting deeper, and I now have like three different hypotheses as to who is behind that evil. There are immortals we haven’t learned of until this book. We learn so much more about Bear and his connection to Simone. I can’t even tell you more without spoilers, but there is oh so much more. There are no two ways about it, this story is a must read.

This series just keeps getting better and better. This is the story of Simone and Nikolai. We know from the last two books that Simone and Nick have a past. We know that the breakup between the two was not a good one. In this book we find out why and so so much more. Simone is headstrong and has learned from her mother and Nick to trust no man. Nick gave up his true love in order to save his and her people. Now they must trust each other in order to save them both. This book was non stop. Full of action, mystery, hot and I mean HOT sex scenes and a family that just keeps growing. It doesn't end with a cliffhanger but it does end with not all the pieces tied up nicely. I feel like I am back tracking because I was given wicked kiss through netgalley and NEEDED to read all of them it was that good now I can't wait to read book FIVE!!!
