It's a fun book that's kind of a Drarry fanfic.

Yes, I know I only gave it three stars, but I actually really like it? I know it's weird, but still I feel like it makes sense. Or maybe just in my head.
Anyway.

This is a Harry Potter fanfic about what if Harry and Draco were hot for each other, and also what if Ron never really existed and instead Hermione were both the nerd but also the cool friend that really gets Harry. I'm not sure who Agatha is supposed to be, Ginny? And of course we have Dumbledore and McGonagall.

This review is gonna have some spoilers, so heads up if you don't like that kind of stuff.


This really has the writing style of a fanfic. First of all it is very obvious that it is taken from Harry potter, but also fanfics have a special writing style that you seldom see in other places, and if you have read some fanfics you notice it. For instance, we understand right away that Simon and Baz are into each other. Even if it takes more than half the book before we get a real acknowledgment, it's so obvious from the first pages. Simon only thinks about Baz like 99% of his waking hours. Even though there is a real threat, he needs to know where Baz is because the other thing can actually wait. There is some real enemies to lovers vibe from day one. Also, you know the setup. First they hate each other, but there is some tension that you can't really pinpoint, they always see each other from far away and lock eyes. They somehow end up having a sleepover, and they become shy and weird around each other and probably one of them loans the other one some clothes. They don't do anything here, but it's getting to be more friendly. then they need to do something right away, and there is anger and pain and they scream at each other and then when it looks like they are going to punch each other, they start making out.

I love enemies to lovers. I think it's a great trope. And I really enjoy fanfics so I'm not complaining about those parts. It's a fun book with hormones, and it went by really fast because there is always something happening.
