What a great ending to the series. Despite not being set specifically in an army situation, this book's events still had the drama and suspense of its predecessors. Not revealing Rix’s secret to the reader until he told Jess had me trying to work it out for myself. Jase’s struggles were real and had me wondering if he would ever get through them but seeing him come out the other side feeling good in himself was heartwarming. Jess being in danger felt just like when she was trapped in Dominica. This portion of the book was not rushed, it built into it slowly and you really had no idea whether she was going to make it out of this one unscathed. I love that we had a glimpse into the lives of the main characters in seven years’ time, we could see where they were at, how their lives had changed and how the consequences of seven years prior had affected that. The ending was beautiful and did have me a little emotional. I’m happy everyone got their happy ending. Overall, this was a lovely ending to the most wonderful series of books.
