Recs if you like Growing Up Torres Strait Islander in Australia...

Disclaimer: I am not Pacific Islander, but we should all strive to read more Pasifika authors!

The grouping of Pasifika and Asian communities has a complex history. And because of this grouping, Pasifika authors are largely underrepresented.

Check out Pacific Islanders in Publishing (I cannot figure out how to hyperlink, sorry) for more recs!

I have not read all of the books on this list, so please let me know if any are not fit for this list!

Suggestions are always welcome!

The many and varied Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures from the lands, waters and skies known today as 'Australia' are, collectively, the oldest continuing culture in the world. Sick, huh? The knowledge and wisdom held and passed down by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples is important, necessary and timeless. If you are looking to decolonise your thinking, what better way than learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices?
