Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

Bestselling Author Kandi Steiner delivers a breathtaking, poignant romance and unforgettable adventure about two strangers and the road trip that will change both of their lives forever. What makes you happy? That was the question Emery Reed asked me the day we met, and I couldn’t give him a single answer. I could have said my dog, or my books, or yoga — but I just stared. And then, I got in his car. It was crazy to take a road trip with a stranger, but after years of standing still, he was my one-way ticket to a new life, and I wasn’t going to miss it. We shared the same space, the same car, the same hotel room — and still, we were strangers. One day we’d be laughing, the next, we wouldn’t speak. Emery was surrounded by impenetrable walls, but I wanted in. Discovering his journal changed everything. I read his thoughts, words not meant for anyone’s eyes, and the more I learned about him, the harder I fell. It turned out nothing made Emery Reed happy, and I wanted to change that. I earned his trust by violating his privacy, and as wrong as it was, it worked — until one entry revealed a darkness I never knew existed, a timer I never knew was ticking. Suddenly, what made me happy was saving Emery from himself. I just didn’t know if I could.

I've never read a book that describes me as a person so perfectly. From the characters, to the plotline, to the scenes, I feel like ever single word in this book was written about me, for me.

And that's the great thing about this novel, because I know people feel similar.

Not a lot of romance authors write about mental illnesses in a meaningful way. A lot will skim over the surface. But when you read OTWTY, even if you have no clue what it's like to have a mental illness, you will understand clearly and be like, "Oh, so this is what it's like."

Normally when novels make me cry, I need a lot of therapy and need to be healed or comforted, but this...I didn't need any of that. It's a familiar feeling to me, a familiar feeling of sadness. I know what it's like to feel this way, and I know how to get back up on my own. If that makes any sense?

This book is more than just two characters going on a road-trip together. It is more than a small town girl meeting a big world guy. So much more guys. It's a book that I hope you'll be picking up over and over again to revisit the characters, the sights, the plot.

On the Way to You will give you a couple of words and phrases you'll keep tucked safely inside your heart. And you'll look back to it in times of need. Whether you're feeling happy or upset, or just need a reminder of how amazing and strong you are, this book is it.

    depressing

I went into this thinking it would be a fun road trip romance. It definitely is not fun. It’s depressing. Overall still a good story, just wasn’t what I was loooking for.
