We should all be reading queer, all year, but this list is full of upcoming queer books of all makes and models coming out in 2026. If you have a rec to add, just please keep in mind we’re looking for 2026 releases!

Books with obsessive and/or codependent queer relationships (relationship doesn't have to be canon but the vibes™ should be there)

*SFF novels which use footnotes as a secondary narrative, paratext, or metacommentary on events in the main narrative.

Books that blend the magic of fantasy with real world history (i.e., books set within actual historical time periods and not inspired-by settings). Feedback and recs welcome!

Books in this list are in at least two quests. Thus helping to earn more badges. Books will span different genres. Once I scan through all the quests, I plan to further organize the list. I am thinking of creating a seperate list and moving the books with three or more quests to the new list and keeping the two badge books in this list. Are there other ways you would organize a list this big?

I went through all the books in the romance quest tab and here are all the ones where at least one of leads is in a relationship that is not "man and woman falling in love with each other." F/F, M/M, F/NBi, M/NBi, NBi/NBi, etc. Largely motivated by wanting to figure out which romance book quests I had a chance of getting the badges for. If I missed any, let me know. All the sapphic fiction books I can think of (for series: only first book included) I'll be adding more and suggestions are welcome! :)

Criteria: notable fiction books, including novels, story collections, plays, etc involving the French Revolution, taking place during the French Revolution, or heavily inspired by the French Revolution. Books do not need to represent events accurately to be on this list. Includes everything from classics to current day works. Centered around 1789 Revolution but notable works regarding later events like the June Rebellion may be included if considered relevant to this list.
