Recs if you like Dreamer's Pool...

books featuring older women protagonists, age 30 and up, in sci-fi and fantasy. for books containing multiple povs/protagonists, older fmcs should hold equal weight and presence in the story as other mcs. ideally, aiming for more women centred additions, but open to all suggestions and feedback!

Books featuring mythology, legends and folklore from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. (For the purpose of this list 'Ireland' encompasses the entirety of Ireland (Northern & Republic) as the historical mythos is largely the same since the split happened in the 1900's.)

So, you like your fantasy with a historical-ish setting; perhaps even a dash of gothic yearning here and there. I've got you bestie.

All fiction books that appear in the Tiny Bookshop catalogue! Would sort them by genre as I read along.

Limiting this to fantasy/sci-fi, these are books where the MCs are locked up for most of the book or it's a crucial part of the plot. This can include magical prisons, cursed towers, institutions of sorts, and probably more!

bodyguards, knights & royal guards

Or maybe rather romanticizing Celtic Mythology creatures? 👀🤭 Puca rips off people's heads to use them as balls, or kidnaps children and eats them would be a gentle lover and a perfect father of your children 😍 Dullahan the messenger of death would love you fiercely, even with his grumpy demeanor 🥰 (Getting blinded on one eye after looking at him? Never heard of that..)

Per r/fantasyromance these fantasies will alter you

Made purely for my own convenience since I've been wanting to slowly catch up with Juliet Marillier's Sevenwaters series along with her other series that also takes place in Sevenwaters universe; namely Blackthorn & Grim and Warrior Bards series.

Books that give Merlin vibes that are not related to the Arthurian legend. We have the banter, the atmosphere, the magic, but no sword in the stone for this one! Some will fit better than others, but I wanted an expansive list!
