Westin St. James was the one and only person I trusted in this world.  Then he left me.  And not just left. I’m talking vanished off of the face of the Earth kind of left. But four years later, he walks into the front door of my evil father’s house. Like Nothing. Ever. Happened.  Even worse, my father informs me he’s my new bodyguard.  But I’m no longer the naive girl he loved and dumped without a word of explanation. I’m resourceful and independent. Plus, I’ve got a mean right hook. Which I introduce him too as soon as he reintroduces himself with an infuriating smirk. And things get even crazier after that. Rook is a love and action packed stand-alone romance with roller coaster twists, jaw-dropping turns, and a heart-bursting HEA. Perfect for people who miss ALIAS and readers who love to boo and hiss at disappearing exes who show back up at your front door.

ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.

This is Rook/Westin's story where he's on a mission to take down the enemy while protecting the woman who he never stopped loving.

Nana Malone has never let me down and is now one of my favourite authors I enjoy reading her books a lot, especially this one.

The Rook has a mixture of suspense, slow burn and amazing chemistry between the MMC and FMC. It also has a fantastic plot which is what I love most about this book, it is more so about the story than the smut.

I can't wait to read the next one.

Hoo-weee Westin and Nissa are fiery together after having not seen each other for 4 years when Westin left aka escaped from Nissa's fathers estate where his Uncle controlled him. You feel so torn for Westin not being able to tell Nissa the truth about anything to do with what is happening now so she continues to see him as the evil guy who left her when she needed him as well as a puppet for Montgomery. I absolutely loath Montgomery and how he manipulates everyone and thinks of no one but himself and how he can wield his power and you keep hoping he will get his comeuppance and that Nissa will finally see Westin is doing everything to keep her safe.
