every struggled to find actual lesbian/sapphic books when at the library or bookstore? so did I!

bc of said struggle, I started to curate a personal list of books that either has lesbian MCs and/or featured a primary sapphic romance.

i haven't read all of these, but I do try my diligence in confirming that they meet the above perimeters, since many books claim to be sapphic when they're not. this is an ever updating list, only fiction for now!

space opera focuses on interstellar travel and epic adventures, often with larger-than-life characters, dramatic plots, and an optimistic tone. originally coined in the 1940s as an insult, it has since grown into a vibrant and expansive subgenre.

This is a collection of queer books written by bipoc authors that fall into the genre of fantasy and/or sci-fi (supernatural horror is also included)

(If a book is part of a series I only put the first book because otherwise it gets messy very quickly)

Fantasy and sci-fi books where much of the plot is driven by politics

I love the Pagebound community but the one thing I don’t like about the app is how it incentives sticking to popular books more likely to have a decent amount of posts. (Granted some of this has to do with it being a little new) It’s my experience however that the hidden gems or even just less popular books are often just as if not more interesting as the best sellers.

So this is my list of books with 5 posts or less that I think deserve more love.

Lady knights are great but they make you think historical and European. I’ll take woman warriors in just about any setting (but I might group gunslingers and brawlers separately for my own idiosyncratic purposes). Be warned the woman warrior might be a side character, but I promise they’ll have a significant role.
