Recs if you like The Pelican Child: Stories...

Books We Love from NPR began in 2013, always boasting over 200 books (almost 400 in recent years) featuring genres from memoirs, to cookbooks, to graphic novels, to children’s literature, to nonfiction, to novels. Check out NPR’s website to filter this massive list.

The list is in reverse alphabetical order directly from NPR.

Books that challenge reality in all the best ways! From SciFi and speculative fiction to horror and literature these books are true escapism. Most I have read and loved some I’m most definitely going to read. I’m sure not all will be for everyone and that’s ok! Just wanted to share a little weirdness 🤓

Because who doesn’t love birds?? Fiction and non-fiction books all featuring birds prominently on the cover. This is what I spend my time thinking about 😭

Books that can be a little weird, a little silly, or a little sinister. Just like Cosmo Sheldrake. Sometimes whimsical, sometimes haunting, sometimes airy, and sometimes dark. But always distinct, strange, different, and beautiful. ❤️‍🩹 (And one just cuz it was written by his brother)

Title is pretty self-explanatory really! This list contains only the entries in the Fiction category but I might create the other lists too if someone doesn't beat me to it, we'll see what the future holds ~
