Here's every book so far from BOTM's monthly shortlist since February 2015 for anyone who wants to read them all like I do!

Fiction to read when riding that Stranger Things high, with similar vibes, references or stories. Sometimes called the "kids on bikes" genre, this is a mix of small town horror, scifi and speculative fiction. Also the tie-in novels for Stranger Things itself, as that inspired this list.

So I LOVE the show Cold Case (ilysm Lilly Rush/Scotty Valens). Cold case mystery/thrillers live in that unsettling space where justice failed the first time, and the world moved on as if the truth didn’t matter. This is one of my favourite movie genres so I thought I’d make a list for books!

'Things are not where you left them. You can hear but cannot see critters crawling through the house. Is that a person watching you or just an illusion?' These books blur the line between hallucination, insanity, and the supernatural. Is the narrator really reliable or denying reality? Is there a monster stalking the group, or are they all suffering from exhaustion and lack of sleep? Is it a man or something worse?
