A few housekeeping notes before getting into this one. This is a part of a multi-author series done by Silhouette, but I read this story as a standalone and don’t feel like I missed out on anything. You do not have to read the other books to read this at all. I will warn you though, it’s very interesting and made me want to seek out more from the series. That’s where I hit a roadblock of finding a true order of this series, or even finding out what books are included in the complete series.

This story is pretty emotional. I love both the hero and heroine, Peter and Kate. I understood the animosity Peter had toward Kate when he first discovered her identity. I also understood Kate’s reluctance to let Peter in on her pregnancy, or even who she was initially. Yet their chemistry is such that you just know they are meant to be together.

I appreciate that Kate and Peter got a lot of time with just each other, no outside interference. This helped them to let their true selves show without being bogged down by family and business. It allowed their relationship to flourish in a bubble, even while they were still keeping one another at arm’s length.

The realizations Kate came to at the end of this story were great. Although it took a big conflict for these truths to become evident to her, I’m glad she came to see things clearly on her own. I think that same scene really helped Peter to see with 100% surety that Kate truly never meant to deceive or hurt him or his family in any way. It’s wonderful that their HEA came with them also finding total faith in each other.

I’m not sure yet which “old” RaeAnne Thayne book I’ll be able to get in my hands, but I’m looking forward to whatever it may be.
