Queer Literature in Translation
A selection of books by queer authors and/or containing queer themes not originally written in English but since translated. Suggestions very welcome!
books set in South Korea / by Korean authors
a favourite niche of mine, partly inspired by 4 years spent living there โจ
Weird and Unhinged Women 2.0
All sorts of stories about all sorts of women and girls.
This is a genre-agnostic mega-list of weird girl* fiction expanding on an original list by @yarnandbooks (no longer being updated). You can view the original list here: (link) /// As a nonbinary person, I take as broad a view as possible of the "girl" in "weird girl*", hence the asterisk.
Wide open for recommendations!
translated korean lit.
a non-exhaustive list.
Gay Through Literature
my attempt at collecting queer books so our history doesn't become lost + to hopefully interest others within it too.
*please note I'd love recommendations on works i may have missed!!
queer books by non-white authors
a lot of what i read is what i see talked about, books at the top of search results, books face out at bookshops, etc. i never really stopped to consider how many of those books were written by white authors, so i have set a task to be more conscious of the cultural and ethnic diversity in my reading and thought to make a list to keep track of what iโve read and what i want to read.
please feel free to comment any recommendations!
Lost in Translation (and Loving It)

Recent Translations - Korean
The University of Rochester found that only 3 percent of books published in the US are in translation. I want to create lists of recently published (fiction) literature (2022-2025) in translation from different languages, out of curiosity. Will mostly be sourced from the university's database, which goes up to 2024, and then sourced from publishers for 2025 (won't be comprehensive for 2025). Feel free to suggest titles, from the last 5/10 years if you like them, or other languages of interest!
