In this heated rivalry, will love be the final result? After checking her salty attitude and grinding for years, Remi James has worked her way up to become star bartender at an upscale Seattle bar. She’s finally on track for the promotion (and the home loan approval) of her dreams—until Maya Marek walks in. Suddenly, Remi has competition. Willowy, blonde, infuriatingly talented competition… The last thing friendly, cheerful Maya expects on her first day is to clash so spectacularly with the prickly senior bartender—or to find herself inexplicably drawn to the feisty woman. But she needs this paycheck to afford grad school, and no amount of snarky comments, pouty lips, and to-die-for curves will get in her way. Remi and Maya are rivals. That’s why they’re so aware of each other in the tight space behind the bar, and in the walk-in refrigerator… right? But when family emergencies and painful pasts come to light, they're forced to see each other in a new way. When the line between rivalry and romance begins to blur, can Remi and Maya dare to sacrifice their dreams to reach for something new? With snarky banter and steamy tension In Walked Trouble serves up the perfect cocktail of humor and heat. Fans of Ashley Herring Blake, Casey McQuiston, and Alexis Hall will fall hard for this fresh, flirty rom-com about taking risks, letting your guard down, and finding love in unexpected places. "in walked trouble" is a workplace, rivals-to-lovers romance, the second in dana hawkins's series "single in seattle." i really enjoyed maya and remi's chemistry, their progress from disliking each other to becoming friends and then falling in love, and i felt like their character arcs were really fulfilling, i would've given it four stars except for some issues i had: 1) the ending to epilogue felt extremely rushed and like their conflicts were resolved way too quickly and almost glossed over, considering that the rest of their relationship developed in such a good way. but this was only a small portion of the book at the very end so it wasn't a dealbreaker, but 2) gabriella's spanish. now, i don't claim to be the expert of bilingualism, but i am a bilingual latina woman whose first language is spanish and who spends a lot of time around other bilingual people. and gabriella's spanish didn't feel realistic to begin with, and it felt like she was supposed to be puertorican but spoke like a spaniard. that, along with the grammatical mistakes was very frustrating. thanks to netgalley and storm publishing for the arc. "in walked trouble" comes out march 26th!

Thank you NetGalley for giving me an ARC of this book. I thoroughly enjoyed this enemies to lovers sapphic romance. As someone who's worked in the restaurant industry before, it was cute to read about a love story happening in that environment. The characters were funny and relatable, and had flaws that they worked on throughout the book. I will say, the ending did feel a tad rushed and I wish it had gone a little slower and really wrapped things up. But overall I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.
