Curveball is a Grand Slam
Curveball is the first book in the new series (but connected) Vegas Heat: The Expansion Team. Cooper has come to Las Vegas to meet with Troy who is the owner of the new expansion baseball team. He meets with Troy about coming out of retirement and says he'll think about it. Then he goes to a casino to have some fun. He's going to play blackjack and runs into Gabby. The two of them immediately hit it off -- she's attracted to how he gets her humor, not to mention how hot he is. He's attracted to her sunshine attitude, she focused but still upbeat and she's fun (and hot). They have a couple of days together before he returns home to San Diego but they maintain a long distance relationship. Once he's able to finish everything up, Cooper decides he is going to take the job. He's going to be staying with Troy while his house is getting ready.
There are a lot of secrets between the two that they somewhat don't realize that they are keeping secret. I don't want to spoil those, but based on the cliffhanger here, they are going to cause some major problems between the two of them in the next book.
