This list is a community project, I asked in the club and received multiple suggestions which I then added onto a list: fiction and nonfiction, fantasy, contemporary, sci-fi, the main theme is just hope. Some people said their recommendation might not fit very well but I added it anyways.

Also, in the og post, I mentioned The Good Place and if people have recommendations tending to that, so some books are related to that.

I have spent years curating a list of graphic novels for myself on goodreads and I thought this place would be great to share it and share my love for graphic novels. I’m not picky about the plot or topics of the graphic novels I read so the list is pretty much any graphic novel I have heard of regardless of topic. Many are middle grade or young adult as is the general trend of the format but recommendations for more (especially adult) would be greatly appreciated.

Also manga is not included.

A cozy subgenre originating from Japan and South Korea that features low-stakes, contemplative stories with themes around healing, community, loneliness, grief, burnout, etc. Magical realism is often present as well.

My picks of the “healing fiction” ❤️‍🩹 genre and books that fit the vibe. I’ve read most of these books and can attest to them. It might not seem like there is a theme here, but I promise it makes sense and I tried to vary them. Take care of yourselves friends.

Some of these books deal with heavier topics and some are cozy. Some are really really weird, but make you think in an interesting way and are cathartic to read. I hope you find some peace in at least one of them. ❤️
