For meteorologist Jack Carey, the weather office in Hodder, Texas is his version of a quiet retirement. Or at least it was supposed to be. On a warm summer night his quiet life is upended when a violent tornado ravages a nearby town in the middle of the night. As the questions and casualties rise, Jack finds himself in the middle of a storm of his own. As Jack discovers it's not just Mother Nature who has a dark side to reveal, he must also unravel the mysteries of a midnight monster while trying to fend off the media that always seems to be a step ahead. As the pressure mounts, Jack must fight to keep himself and his team from cracking, all the while staring down the barrel of one of the worst disasters in history.
