I feel like it’s really challenging to rate a true crime novel. So, I’ll focus my review on how the story flowed. I think John got straight to the point and didn’t drag on any aspects of the story. He writes in a way that really holds your attention and leaves you wanting to read more and figure out what happened. It is such a tragedy to read about, and really tugs at the heart strings to hear how Shanann’s family has coped since, and how it was such a senseless crime.
