    Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

Let’s meet old west Samuel L Jackson. A one time outlaw turned bounty hunter called the Preacher because he recites Bible verses whilst catching criminals. He’s done with all that and now he’d like to go home to Wyoming and ranch. He’s biracial- Scottish mother/ Black father.
Our heroine is also biracial. Native mother / Black father. She was well educated by her father until her parents died when she was 14. She’s on her own, just trying to make her way in the world. Some entitled white bastard attempts to assault her and when she fights him off, he falls, hits his head on the corner of a counter and dies. Now she’s been arrested.

The story is fine. There are parts I really enjoyed but there was also A LOT of exposition about trains & dresses, & riding horses. This book took forever.

I know so many people love this author. This is my 3rd or 4th book of hers and I think she’s not for me.
