Stevie As the lead piercer at Hel’s Ink, I’ve gained skills, made friends, and accepted the chaos that is my family. Finally, good things are coming my way, and I am feeling confident, maybe a little too confident, when I post a video to my socials describing the toxicity and abuse that is all too frequent in my industry and the life I left behind. After it goes viral, I get threats that move from on-screen to real life and I’m forced to come to terms with needing help. Pushed into the protective arms of a man I can’t stand, but whose body I crave. He wants more, but I’m not even sure what it is I want, or if I even have anything left to give. Brooks After finding out that Stevie Campbell is being harassed over her viral video, I step up to keep her safe and protect her from the increasingly real and frightening threats she’s getting. Hel’s has become a family to me and Stevie, well, she’s become my entire world. Our physical chemistry is a perfect match, but as we get closer, I’m falling harder and she’s pulling away. I’d do anything for her, give her everything… if only she’d believe in herself the way I do.

I have inhaled every book in this series like they were the best smelling things in the world! Better than the best perfume, flower, fresh baked bread -- I can't get enough and thankfully, as far as I can tell, harmless to be addicted to! The characters are so well developed and you really come to care for them. This one is about Stevie, who is the piercer for Hel's Ink and Brooks, who is security/bodyguard person who has more than bodyguard/client feelings for Stevie. Even though she won't give him an inch, he keeps pushing. Eventually he breaks down her walls and finds out why she doesn't want to let a man into her life (it's brutal!). Then he proceeds to show her that she can stay independent and still have him too. This man!! This big bear of a man, gah! He's just so stinkin' sweet. He will move heaven and earth to show his "Peaches" that he's her safe place to fall.
Plus there's more of Stevie's family here. Baka forever! That old woman loves hard and while sometimes she says things that they don't want to hear, she's almost always right! She's fierce, but she also protects what she knows is right. Everyone could use someone like that in their life.
