Recs if you like The Faraway Inn...

Want to start a life in the cottage, escape from the horror of life and tuck into your corner in the world? Just remember, this could be a cozy corner OR it could be just the opposite of that...

You want a fantasy book without too much stress and a guaranteed happy ending? Maybe magic and a muffin? Or talking creatures drinking tea? Sentient houseplants who are occasionally bossy? I gotcha. 😉

All cats are a little bit magical, but these cats are extra special. Whether they talk or have wings or are extraordinarily large, these are most definitely unusual cats!

Breakfast will be served between the hours of 7 and 10 am

Low(ish) stakes, cozy worldbuilding, mostly loveable characters, and almost always a happy ending–whether it's with dragons or starships, these books are the ultimate warm hug of escapism. Pairing with your favorite warm beverage is highly recommended.

Books that genuinely make me chortle rather than just a chuff of amusement

Enchanted cottages, magical gardens, fairytale creatures and witches - these stories focus on communities where people are running businesses, caring for nature, crafting and finding their home. They're about magic making ordinary life feel extraordinary, with warmth, whimsy and love.

Light cozy fantasy for when you need a pick me up

Moments in which I've been nourished as a feminine, mother, woman & liberated creative being.

Fantasies with cozy worlds where the characters are facing significant challenges

I love YA. It can suck pretty bad when the books try to copy each other. But when some of those gems pop up...wowza! Who knew you could tell such a hard-hitting story without having to resort to 1,000 pages & sex?

This is one of a few lists I'm making to help me organize my ideas for HRCYED 3.0. Feel free to take inspiration or comment with more ideas.
