DENVER The Hallow Ranch was left to me, the first-born son. Before I inherited the ranch, I left to serve my country. When I came back to embrace my destiny, I was tricked. One night of lies and betrayal led me here. Without a brother. With a son. The Hallow Ranch is my focus. I have to ensure my son's future, whatever it takes. That includes ignoring the beautiful woman trying to take what's mine. VALERIE I have a job to do. Did I enjoy this job? No, but it pays for my mom's chemo. She’s all I have left. When I was assigned to propose the pipeline's offer to the Hallow Ranch, I expected some old rancher. I never saw Denver Langston coming - gorgeous, rude, and stubborn. The Hallow Ranch account would cover our bills for two years, but this rancher isn't letting me have it. Saddle up, cowboy, because I'm not giving up without a fight.

I had no idea what this was about when I began reading, don’t recall why I downloaded it but it caught my attention right away. Was this over the top, yes, but it was still enjoyable. The reason this was not a 4 was because the grammatical errors were so many. I have never read one with so many and it reached a point it was distracting. Also I have officially added enchantress and smoke to pet names that should never be used. I started blocking them out for they took me out of the story. Enchantress is so awkward and doesn’t slip off the tongue. Wish kindle allowed words to be replaced for my god it drove me crazy. The use of “smoke” was so damn confusing at the beginning. The story itself was interesting and I will read the second half for I am curious how it ends.
