The Cat’s out of the Bag, #1
“Only those who have suffered great loss and pain can relate so intimately with other tortured souls.”
Right off the bat, I’ll share that I’m extremely unlikely to do this book any justice or cover ALL of the things I enjoyed about it because there was a lot to appreciate here. But I’ll try …
First of all, it’s obvious that this author either writes what she knows or Ttakes her time and does lots of research … any time anything is explained or depicted, it’s extremely well done.
This book’s FMC is extremely lovable and comes with a dark, sometimes mysterious past so there’s lots of intrigue and some excitement, worrying if it’ll pop up to haunt her. More importantly though, I felt this was extremely well depicted. Evie’s a survivor and not too far removed from her trauma—just a couple years. Of course, everyone is different and heals, etc. at their own pace but I found Evie to be extremely well-developed and her situation, quirks, fears, etc. very plausible.
Jesse, our MMC has his own secrets and vulnerabilities … I found this to be extremely plausible and well thought out as well and koved hating on the evil users in his life. Just added another layer of fun.
This is a slow-burn romance, as is fitting for both of their situations, really, but still a pretty fast-paced book because there’s so much going on! Friends out on adventures, or just laughing together, lovable pets, Aussie nature/wildlife, etc. This book has some great vibes and I enjoyed my time with it. In fact, now that it’s over I miss it.
When the characters went on a road trip through some of Australia, I felt like I was getting a tour! The author manages to show her amazing country to the reader and as an Aussie-virgin with wanderlust, I very much appreciate this about her books!
I’m going to give this 5 stars for how well done I found it, and for great writing. And I’m likely going to binge on all of Tereslt’s other work
5 stars.

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie, #3
I flew through this read—it was so fun! If you’re looking for something with lots of angst, definitely check this one out!
Both MCs are pretty broken from past trauma and it is compounded by misunderstandings and poor communication. There’s a pretty big scheme afoot, some sensible friends & family members to appreciate, rekindling of old flames but with drama and angst, fun trivia & facts, ghosts and more.
Like the other books by this author, it’s so well-detailed that it’s like visiting Australia, which I also appreciate! A really fun read that had me running off to one-click the next. (But this is a standalone.)
4 stars.

Get off Your High Horse, #3
This was a super sweet read with absolutely great characters. The author did a great job of slowly developing real characters—I’d completely hang out with these people. I wonder if they’d adopt me, even.
Tereslt also drops the reader right into the polo world, something I know absolutely nothing about and still manages to make all extremely relatable and exciting. The wit had me laughing out loud at time and there’s some ‘richs to rags’ vibe, a super slow-burn romance, and even some seemingly crazy magpies.
I’ve come to love these books and am a little sad that I’ve not read them all but I know she’s got a new one coming soon so not really. :)
This author is better than most at painting the world so that you’re just there, it all makes sense, and her characters are the readers friends and family … at least for a little while when submerged in these books. I highly recommend any / all of them.
4 stars.
