Come back to Thunder Point! From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Virgin River series, book 7 in her beloved Thunder Point novels, where second chances can be complicated, but finding love might be simple… Grace Dillon was a champion figure skater until she moved to Thunder Point, Oregon, to escape the ruthless world of fame and competition. Though she’s proud of the quiet, self-sufficient life she’s created running a successful flower shop, she knows something is missing. Her life could use a little excitement. In a community where there are few eligible singles, high school teacher Troy Headly appoints himself Grace’s fun coach. When he suggests a little companionship with no strings attached, Grace is eager to take him up on his offer, and the two enjoy…getting to know each other. But things get complicated when Grace’s past catches up with her, and she knows that’s not what Troy signed up for. Faced with losing her, Troy realizes Grace is more than just a friend with benefits. He’s determined to help her fight for the life she always wished for but never believed she could have—and maybe they can find real love along the way.First published in 2015

I have to admit I was quite annoyed with Troy in the last book. Sure, he was a nice guy and all that. But c'mon, dude! Know when to step aside! I cannot tell you how glad I was that Robyn Carr at least had Troy acknowledge, if only to himself, that he went a bit overboard with Iris.

That's not to say he didn't do anything idiotic in this book. It's the curse of the Hero to usually do something stupid in a romance. In this case, the problem I had wasn't what most people would think. It was more about how he almost didn't believe Grace's past was as bothersome as she makes it out to be. To her it was so let her feel the feelings she has!

As for Grace, she did hold onto a lot of baggage from her past. I was glad Becca (from Virgin River!) tried to give her some perspective on how she was viewed by the general public. While she didn't miraculously get over her issues, she at least started to deal with them.

As usual, Ms. Carr sucked me in from the beginning. I did feel the ending was a bit rushed and I don't quite understand exactly how the house situation is going to work out with Grace, but I'm sure we'll be able to read more about that in the next book.
