Veterinarian and Dark Knights biker Baxter “Baz” Wicked, the most charming and mysterious of the family, has a career he loves, a brotherhood he trusts, and plans that don’t include settling down just yet. Come along for the unexpected, hilarious, and heart-wrenching ride as Baz discovers that life and love can be messy, and carefully crafted plans can’t hold a candle to ten tiny fingers and toes. Talk Wicked to Me may be enjoyed as a standalone romance or as part of the larger series. No cliffhangers, no cheating, and a happily ever after that will leave you breathless. Tropes: Pregnant heroine, single-parent, small-town romance, found family, biker family, close proximity, protective hero, he falls first, strangers to lovers, slow burn, chance meeting, golden-retriever hero, romance with animals. ** Between expanding his veterinary practice, commitments with his motorcycle club, and international travel plans, Baz Wicked has little time for anything else. When a beautiful, frantic pregnant woman barges into his office for help with her dog, he senses something is off, and he’s drawn to her in ways he shouldn’t be. But now he can’t get Emerson Lockhart out of his head. Having a baby wasn’t in Emerson’s plans, but neither was tragically losing her parents more than a decade ago, when she was only a teenager. After all she’s been through, leaving the chaos of New York City and moving to the peaceful small town of Bayside while on the cusp of giving birth was a piece of cake. She’s used to handling things on her own, but when an unexpected emergency brings the charming vet—who makes her remember she’s more than a mother-to-be—back into her life, she’s grateful for his help but wary of his friendship. Emerson knows how quickly the people she cares about can be stolen away, and she never wants to experience that devastation again. But the fiercely loyal, protective biker isn’t easily dissuaded. Passion ignites and affections run deep, but when their pasts collide and Baz’s demons are revealed, will it douse their flames, or can true love prevail? ** About The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside Set on the sandy shores of Cape Cod, the Wickeds feature fiercely protective heroes, strong heroines, and unbreakable family bonds. If you think bikers are all the same, you haven’t met the Dark Knights. The Dark Knights are a motorcycle club, not a gang. Their members stick together like family and will stop at nothing to keep their communities safe. These men are wickedly alpha and intensely loyal, but they are not alphaholes. ** Want more WICKED sexy love stories?A Little Bit WickedThe Wicked AftermathCrazy, Wicked LoveThe Wicked TruthHis Wicked WaysMeet the DARK KNIGHTS AT PEACEFUL HARBORNow available for your binge-reading pleasure!Tru BlueTruly, Madly, WhiskeyDriving Whiskey WildWicked Whiskey LoveMad About MoonTaming My WhiskeyThe Gritty TruthIn for a PennyRunning on DieselFind out more about these and many other steamy romance series in Melissa Foster’s big-family contemporary romance collection, Love in Bloom, featuring characters from all walks of life, from billionaires to blue-collar workers. Whenever I think I can’t love the Wickeds and Whiskeys more, they prove me wrong. This family, and all of the Dark Knights, are amazing people who make their world a better place. I always love to see an outsider, and by that I mean someone who isn’t already a part of the community in any way so isn’t aware of the Dark Knights and their reputation, get inundated by this group of do-gooders and not know how to handle the sudden influx of support. Their suspicion with that underlying hope, the natural inclination to turn down the kind offers while desperately wanting the friendships that are being offered. It’s beautiful.

Emerson quite literally bursts into Baz’s life and he falls instantly and hard. Other than Emerson’s best friend, who lives many states away, nobody and nothing seems to stick for Emerson so she doesn’t trust the instant attraction she has to Baz. And she definitely doesn’t believe he can possibly have anything but a feeling of friendship back since she was 9 months pregnant when they met. But when those Wickeds find their love, that’s it for them. Now Baz just has to convince Emerson he’s the real deal and there is nothing that will scare him away. Not her emotions, not her newborn baby (he’s actually a bonus), not her post-natal emotions, not her inclination to do everything herself even when help is being offered. Baz wants the full package; good and bad, ups and downs.

Not only does Baz listen when Emerson talks, but she does the same. He wants her dreams to come true and she wants him to fulfill his promises. No regrets! This couple takes a while to come together sexually, but they are together intimately and emotionally long before that happens so I never felt as though I was missing out on anything. They are a true team. Once they commit to “officially” being together as more than friends, they are still careful about honoring what is important to the other. Maybe too careful since they both bottle up some of their feelings to let the other spread their wings. Love wins in the end, though. No worries.

I love the found family aspect of this story. Baz is not the only one who has a love-at-first-sight moment in this book. His parents, siblings, and cousins fall just as fast for Emerson and her son. It’s adorable and heartwarming.
