A list of books I've read by Indigenous authors (ideally about Indigenous issues or characters) in 2025. Books about Indigenous people/topics written by non-Indigenous authors aren't included here, but anthologies/co-authored books with a mixture of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous authors are included. For this list, I'm only including authors Indigenous to the Americas, Oceania, and Sápmi, although Indigenous peoples obviously exist in other parts of the world.

My favourite books or from my TBR by BIPOC authors in a range of different genres (though I primarily read fantasy and romance) (only first book for a series added, unless not directly linked)

These are books with magical systems and abilities that I found truly unique! They stood out to me so much that I can probably tell you about the magic in the book but not the plot. 😂

Fantasy books where tattoos are neither mere adornments nor static marks. Each line and swirl weaves itself into the fabric of their life, unfurling their story. Characters choose their ink with care or with reckless abandon. Every symbol may stand as their shield, or just as easily become their undoing.

I'm an INFP and for me books that would speak to an INFP soul are either/or cozy, emotional, cottagecore, introspective, and lyrical. Not all of these books have every single thing. But I think they might speak to you if you're INFP!
