Meet the men of Oxford magazine! In the first captivating spin-off of Lauren Layne’s Sex, Love & Stiletto series, a not-so-friendly battle of the sexes turns into a scorching office romance.   Hotshot sports editor Cole Sharpe has been freelancing for Oxford for years, so when he hears about a staff position opening up, he figures he’s got the inside track. Then his boss drops a bombshell: Cole has competition. Female competition, in the form of a fresh-faced tomboy who can hang with the dudes—and write circles around them, too. Cole usually likes his women flirty and curvy, but he takes a special interest in his skinny, sassy rival, if only to keep an eye on her. And soon, he can’t take his eyes off her.   Penelope Pope knows all too well that she comes off as just one of the guys. Since she’s learned that wanting more usually leads to disappointment, Penelope’s resigned to sitting on the sidelines when it comes to love. So why does Cole make her want to get back in the game? The man is as arrogant as he is handsome. He probably sees her as nothing more than a barrier to his dream job. But when an unexpected kiss turns into a night of irresistible passion, Penelope has to figure out whether they’re just fooling around—or starting something real.  Includes a special message from the editor, as well as an excerpt from another Loveswept title.

Pretty standard romance. Good sexual tension, a few sex scenes to keep it going. Unfortunately, after they make their deal of sex on the weekends, there are not multiple sex scenes detailing these sessions, then the weekends become 'fade to black' or referenced dreamily.
Also, I thought it was stupid to have Cole keeping Bobby a secret... I get that he may have wanted some privacy and that people didn't always react well or whatever, but multiple characters literally didn't know he had a brother?? So Cole never had made a plan with a single friend on a Sunday and nobody thought it was weird?? (Cole was a little cliched and boring overall, but pretty.)

I liked that Penelope was presented as so non-curvy and flat chested, though my initial impressions were medium height but slender, so making her so petite "tiny" became her thing. And despite Cole saying multiple times how she wasn't his body type and preference and how he liked boobs, I'd have liked him to have said something either to P or maybe to a guy friend that he was pleasantly surprised that he liked her body, or that her x quality made up for flat chest... maybe that would have come off as shallow/douche-y if it had been in the book.

Also, from Cole's perspective I thought he was a good guy and liked him, but from Penelope's POV sometimes Cole came across as sexist and demanding.
Did like the sports--it was cool to have our two main characters into a subject I've rarely/never seen in romance.
