Basically, a huge list of every book I ever heard features sapphic characters.

I have not read all of these, so I cannot be sure of the amount of the time on page of the sapphic characters or of the quality of the books.

Some of these I do not plan to read at all, since they are not my style. If you feel like a book doesn't belong here, let me know.

Stories that tell the tale of sapphic life and love throughout time

A collection of well-written sapphic genre books where the "sapphicness" is more than just having a woman with a male love interest who happens to be bisexual. None of the books here have an f/m ending (unless there are multiple protagonists and at least one have an f/f relationship)

This will get updated in time since I don't want to recommend books I haven't read but I'll take requests if you want to give me any!

Note: The Sapphic story in The Revanche Cycle tetralogy (Winter's Reach) continues in the Wisdom's Grave trilogy (Sworn To The Night), which also has the final HEA. However the two series can be read independently of each other.

I need to do research for a story I'm writing, so I'm collecting the relevant books I find here :) I will feature a range of fiction and non-fiction books about the real history and the fun imaginary worlds of queer western books. Suggestions always welcome!

p.s. there may be non-queer westerns or history of that era that make their way on here for research sake, but the goal is ultimately to bring more gay cowboys (gender neutral) into the world

Being part of a sapphic book review podcast and running a few different review sites focused specifically on published and unpublished stories, I've read so many older books and femslash. I've forgotten how good some of them were, even though they may be dated. I would love to have younger generations be exposed to these books. And it's also for all us oldies who still have our favorites pop into our heads and make us smile. I hope this list rekindles a love for some of the founding members of modern sapphic romance.
