A lot going f 2nd chance romances are based on a miscommunication. This couple has legitimate problems. They were both very young. He drank way too much. Add in a housekeeper who wants the Laird for herself and a miscarriage and the bride runs away to Paris. I think she’s gone close to a decade and returns to obtain a divorce.
Forced proximity. Wagering and before you know it, they find they may have changed in positive ways.
I loved that the Laird is an artist.
Quick read.
