    Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

Spencer’s (Viscount Ravenswood) brother has decided to play matchmaker and marries an American, Abby, on behalf of Spencer. (Marriage by proxy seems a little dangerous!) When Abby shows up on Spencer’s doorstep, his brother is nowhere to be found. Spencer decides that the best way to handle the situation is to pretend the marriage is real until he can find his brother and sort things out. Spencer has decided to never marry, because he believes he is sterile. Abby wants nothing more than to be married to Spencer, so she decides to become the perfect English lady.

This was another book where I felt the heroine deserved SO MUCH BETTER. Spencer repeatedly tells Abby he has no plans to remain married to her. Abby feels like (and I totally understood why she felt this way) that this was due to her not being good enough for Spencer. She takes it upon herself to become the best version of an English woman to prove to Spencer she could be the wife she thinks he wants. She really should have just told Spencer to shove it! He was an ass on more than one occasion and there is nothing he could have done to make me think he was good enough for Abby. I love Sabrina Jeffries, but this one just wasn’t for me!
