"That's where you're wrong because an eternity with you at my side is my idea of Heaven."
Lark Taylor is a new to me mm romance author and when I heard that Devil's Mark is a paranormal romance with a demon and a human, I had to get my hands on this book.
If you want a cute and fluffy book that will make you smile so big that your cheeks will hurt, pick this up right now. For this book being Taylor's debut book, I am amazed at her writing. Even though this book is light and fluffy, there are some dark topics in this book and I think that Taylor extinguished the lines between cuteness and heartbreaking at the same time because, in the book, Oscar, the main character has been through a lot. He has been through physical and emotional abuse by his ex-boyfriend and because of that, the aftermath has left him with self-esteem and severe anxiety.
I really loved Oscar as a character. He was very well fleshed out and has a boldness to him even with everything he went through. All he needed was someone to help break down his trauma and that's where Cal comes in.
Cal is one of Lucifer's sons in Hell. He and his two brothers, Harlow and Mori have left Hell to live on Earth. Cal and Oscar met one night at Cal's brother's club and they instantly had a connection. After a night full of heat, Cal's connection to Oscar grew deeper and when he followed him home to make sure he's safe, Cal has, without thinking, given Oscar The Mark. In the book, when a Demon gives another person The Mark, it is meant the The Mark binds them together for eternity. After Cal has given Oscar The Mark. They are bound together and Cal will do anything to protect him.
Even though this book was instant love between Cal and Oscar, I didn't mind it because the connection between Cal and Oscar was so real, you can tell that they really loved each other.
Even though Cal is a Demon, I loved how sweet he was towards Oscar and how he just wanted to love and protect him.
I also really loved how Cal helped Oscar with the aftermath that his ex has put him through. You can tell that Cal really wanted to protect Oscar from his ex.
This whole book left butterflies in my stomach. It was super sweet and adorable and Cal and Oscar's love was everything I didn't know I needed.
I also really loved Cal's brothers. Cal has three brothers: Harlow, Mori, and Dagon. His brothers were a nice addition to the story and they were amazing. I can't wait to read their story. Especially Harlow and Bailey (Bailey is Oscar's best friends), and Dimitri and Dagon's story as well.
