Rule No. 2: Show no fear. They’re vile and twisted. The only thing more fucked up than the Sick Boys is me, and I’m ready to show them. The Sick Boys are hiding something from me. They want to pretend like I didn’t kill my rapist and they didn’t help. But we’re not ordinary college students, that much has become clear to me, and I’m growing tired of all of the lies and secrets. Their masks are cracking and finally, I’m starting to see the grotesque reality underneath. It’s far darker than I ever expected, and it’s not enough. They know everything about me, so now it’s my turn. I fear nothing. Not them. Not the man that I killed or the people who set me up. Fear is for the weak and I, Avalon Manning, am anything but.

After book 1 of course I had to read on, Smoke writes addictive worlds, leads, book boyfriends, etc. While these are high school kids (and I am so not anymore) I found it still mostly fun with lots of juicy drama that people of any age can wind up contending with.

This read was overall, very slow-burn, and 100% predictable, but still fun. I love a good dark read, and I love when things get twisted—this is/does both. Definitely need more.

Can this series get any better!! Avalon and her Sick Boys continue to keep me glued to the pages. I love everything about this series. There are so many twists and turns that it will have your adrenaline pumping no stop! Avalon and Dean are totally meant to be, there is no denying it. These boys are slowly gaining her trust and she is building a relationship with all of them!
