She has a backbone but isn’t overly aggressive when standing up for herself. Knox is arrogant and spoiled, but underneath is sweet and caring. I also loved Anthony and Maria so much, as well as all Elena’s friends. The plot was suspenseful and had a lot of secrets. Although I knew it wasn’t a dark romance going in I kept expecting those darker elements, but I loved that they weren’t there. It made the book feel more believable and enveloping. I devoured this book! The way the story started gave off wattpad feels - from the setting to its structure - but it was interesting enough to keep my attention. I liked how, I, as the reader was also trying to determine what the FMC’s secret was even though I was reading from their point of view. I also enjoyed how the pieces came together regarding the unraveling of it all. All in all, it was a quick enjoyable read with likable characters.
