Books where cults are a significant part of the narrative. Some fiction, some non-fiction.

An on-going attempt to track Asian authors in my Interested/TBR (and hopefully Finished) categories. Books are generally fiction/lit fic/fantasy with some memoirs. Authors span West to East Asia, the Asian diaspora, and mixed-race folx.

Dark academia without the magic!

For books filled with elite schools, universities, intellectual obsession, artistic ambition, secrets, rivalry, murder and beautifully dark atmospheres - with little to no fantasy or supernatural elements, and no YA.

Books where cults are a big part of the story. Mostly fictional horror books 🤡

Many of these are directly about fire but some are also just books I like with fire in the title so you win some you lose some. Would be thrilled to hear any suggestions.
