HEARTSTONE SERIES BOOK 2 A COMPLETE STANDALONE Violet Moore is in love with a man who hates her. Well, to be fair, she kinda deserves it. On her eighteenth birthday, she got drunk and threw herself at him, causing a huge scandal in their sleepy suburban town. Now everyone thinks she’s a slut and he has disappeared. Rumor has it that he’s been living up in the mountains of Colorado, all alone and in isolation. But Violet is going to make it right. She’s going to find him and bring him back. No matter how cruel and mean he is, how much he hurts her with his cold-hearted and abrasive ways, she won’t give up. And neither will she think about his tempting lips or his sculpted muscles or his strong hands. The hands that she wants on her body, touching her, feeling her skin… The hands that make her want to forget everything and kiss Graham Edwards – Mr. Edwards, actually – again. Because you don’t go around kissing your best friend’s dad, do you? Even though that’s all you ever dream about. ____ Previously titled Nicotine Dreams

All I can say after finishing this book is wow. This is the third book I’ve read by Kent and I can’t stop mentioning how in love I am with her writing. When I tell you her writing makes me feel things, I mean it. I’ve felt the love, the angst, the pain, the happiness. The story of Violet and Graham isn’t the typing love story, it is unconventional, but it is beautiful. The beauty and the beast. In the beginning of the book, you can’t help but feel that this pair couldn’t not have a happy ending. But Kent allows you to see both points of view and you get a peek into what they’re feeling and not just what they’re saying. I’m not one to write reviews, but I can’t help but do so after reading Kent’s books. I will definitely read this again in the future.

It’s such a plus that it is in the same series as Medicine Man. Love love love both these books.

“You deserve someone who takes you out on dates and to movies and someone who holds your hand and walks on the goddamn beach with you or whatever the fuck you want him to do. Paint your toenails and chat with you all night on the couch while eating cheap pizza. You deserve someone who wakes up every morning and gets down on his knees to thank God that you belong to him. And then he does it all over again before he goes to sleep. You deserve someone who lives in awe of you, understand?”
