I had hit a bit of a slump prior to this book. Decided to read the first chapter to see if it would keep me somewhat entertained, never expecting it was going to hook me line and sinker, to the point I binged it in one sitting!
Harmony has been planning on leaving her shitty husband for the longest time, and when she does, he ruins her chances of getting a job and having a place to live. Thankfully, the neighbor is not having his temper tantrums and, despite not wanting to get involved with anything related to Harmony or her ex-husband, he can't help but have a spot for her and her son.
While I wasn’t a huge fan of how quickly the couple got together, this book had me glued to it. The plot with her ex-husband was so well done. I’m now intrigued by so many of the characters that appeared in this book! I’ll be looking through the author’s backlist, so I can read their stories.
I don't think this is enemies to lovers...at all. There's some animosity for sure, especially because of the family Harmony is associated with because of her ex, but no real enemies (or hate) to lovers. Was the romance still absolutely adorable and steamy? Absolutely! I truly couldn't get enough, especially Brady and Harmony's son! They were just the cutest! Also, I’ve never cared for “baby” as a pet name, but I was melting every time Brady said it.
Can I just say I want to be Ryleigh when I grow up? She's such a badass of a woman! I need to find her book!
