The eighth story, nineteen years later... It was always difficult being Harry Potter, and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and a father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son, Albus, must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places. Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is the complete and official playscript of the original, award-winning West End production. This updated edition includes the final dialogue and stage directions, a conversation piece between director John Tiffany and playwright Jack Thorne, the Potter family tree, and a timeline of events in the wizarding world leading up to "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child."

As I'm writing this review I'm still wiping the tears from my face. This story was amazing and it brought so many emotions to me and I think it did true to Harry Potter. I loved it.

I really enjoyed being pulled back into the magical world of Harry Potter. I really enjoyed how JK Rowling connected the original books and stories to this play, and even though it was in a play format, I know enough of the magical world to add in the missing blanks. It was such a great read, and a great way to revisit one of the best Magical Stories in the world.

2.3 stars ** I give it this rating because even though it was very very cheesy and felt like I was reading a book meant for second graders, I still found it promising. If Rowling had written this as a stand-alone book, where she could’ve developed the characters and storyline better and deeper, this would’ve been amazing. Kinda disappointed in it, but I was told that it wouldn’t have been good to begin with. A little intrigued in how it was written as a play, that part didn’t bother me at all, I enjoyed it. Just thought the writing itself was just bad lol.
