0I had a great time with this book and thank full for the arc I got. I myself didn’t know this was a serie about a detective, I didn’t do my research at the start. i did think while reading this book that it could be part of series and it was. but for me it didn’t take any enjoyment away, I could still understand the story very well and Enjoyed it very much. I am a sucker for thriller books and this has an interesting plot of the murder mystery and that made it so good and for myself I didn’t see a lot of books with the same plot it reminded me more of a episode of law and order svu and criminal minds. the characters were good and had depths. Will check the authors other works and the other books in this series
