Missing a little more backstory on the hero, but maybe we didn’t need it. Is he REALLY BAD? Mostly. But maybe sometimes he uses his bad for good.

Adderly does a full kidnap in order to ensure his more evil best friend can pay him a gambling debt. Or… did he find out his evil friend tricked a rich girl into marriage and might kill her later, so arranged the whole kidnapping to find out the situation for himself? Adderly never pretends to be nice, he tells everyone how bad he is, over and over. But occasionally we see hidden motives that might be the real story.

His immediate attraction to Bryony is hot, he doesn’t care about her traditionally beautiful cousin, he doesn’t understand why, but he is intrigued.

I didn’t really care about the secondary love story here but it was fun.

Did need more grovel at the end. It felt like the end of My Fair Lady when Eliza acts like Higgins idiot behavior is fine and allowed forever.
