Recs if you like The Girl Next Door...

you definitely don’t want to babysit the kids in these books!! these are some bad kids, some might even say evil kids, like they’re possessed by demons or something, think Damien from The Omen or the twins in Goodnight Mommy

as always, taking any and all suggestions!

Tier 3 of the Disturbing Novel Icberg. Stories are more graphic with darker themes.

Note: some books are missing due to lack of access.

“It’s like a car crash you just can’t look away from”

Books where the red flags are flashing from page one. You see the obsession forming, the moral line blurring, the disaster building — and you keep reading anyway. Slow spirals. Psychological rot. Inevitable collapse. Oh my!

My recommendation on starting and getting into hardcore horror and splatterpunk. Approach with caution, read trigger warnings. Not ranked from mildest to hardest.

A colourful bouquet of creepy, macabre and gruesome tales from the past century. Of murderous worms, demons and unpleasant events.

(Work in progress)

Chapter seven from Grady Hendrix’s Paperbacks from Hell. This book focuses on horror paperbacks from the ‘70s and ‘80s. These books are from this chapter Inhumanoids.

In this chapter Hendrix explores the inhumanoids often found in these horror paperbacks, emphasizing them as often being stand ins for the “foreign”, non American people, likely an allegory in some cases for xenophobia.

See my previous (and future) lists for the books from the other chapters from Hendrix’s book.

Horror novels that were so horrific they got adapted for the silver scream! Only select Stephen King titles to keep this from being The Stephen King Show :')
