If you’re a fan of Sawyer Bennett, this short novella is worth the read. If you’ve never experienced this author before, it’s also a great introduction to her work. It’s steamy and sexy but also has all the heart I have come to expect from Ms. Bennett’s stories.
Hope and Jack fit together perfectly. Although they don’t mind having fun with others, they prefer a bit more quiet and solitude than their friends. Neither of them feel like they’re missing out by spending time alone together rather than with the other raucous people at the inn for a wedding they’re both attending. This time alone gives them ample opportunity to get to know each other on a deeper, more personal, level.
As the wedding week festivities wind down and their time comes to an end, my heart is just broken for them. Neither Jack nor Hope are naïve so they are aware of the many things that can come in the way of them taking things to the next step in a relationship. That makes the heart-break all the more intense in my mind.
This is a wonderful, feel-good story that is just perfect for this busy time of year.
