Blood Alliance Series: Volume One

Lexi C. Foss

Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

Once upon a time, humankind ruled the world while lycans and vampires lived in secret. This is no longer that time. ╰☆☆Chastely Bitten☆☆╮ It is my duty to obey, to give my body and blood to a vampire master until he no longer has use for me. There is no escape. Nowhere to run. Follow the rules or die. ╰☆☆Royally Bitten☆☆╮ Blood Day—the culmination of my training. The day I find out my fate.  I will not cry. I will not beg. I will remain calm.  Emotions are for the weak, and I am not weak.  My name is Rae and I will survive this.  But I never expected him to call my name... ╰☆☆Regally Bitten☆☆╮ An arranged marriage? F*ck. This. I'm an alpha female lycan. I choose my future. Not society. Not my father. And certainly not him. Welcome to the future where the superior bloodlines make the rules. Proceed at your own risk. *** "Darius," I breathed as darkness dimmed the stars. Some part of me knew we were heading down a dangerous path. I struggled to emerge enough to warn him, to beg him... "D..." My mouth felt dryer than it should. Heavy. I tried to lick my lips but couldn't move my tongue. Everything felt so much cooler than moments ago. Numb. Darius. Midnight consumed my vision as I blinked into a starless night. So alone. I always expected to die... I never expected to want to live. Until today. Until Darius inspired hope. Another cruel Vampire joke. I should have known...

    1. Chastely Bitten

This is an intriguing read, set in a world where lycans and vampires rule and humans are basically property. Foss manages to weave corruption and what seems to be a brewing war, while still packing in some pretty high-heat scenes, real feel, loyalty tests and lots of witty dialogue.

An enjoyable read that left me wanting more of this world.

    4 stars.
    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Note:
Listed to the audiobook; these narrators have extremely pleasant voices and absolutely serve to enhance the reading experience.

    2. Royally Bitten

An addictive world in which humans are basically property and lycans and vampires rule … This installment brings us Rae and Kylan’s story and it is an incredible read, prompting a wide array of emotions. This one’s pretty heavily laced with betrayal as well and it’s executed beautifully: tragic results, yet I was consciously addicted to every second of it, completely loving the drama.

It also packs action, heat, drama, true love, family love, loyalty and more, all wrapped up into some epic world-building.

As I read, I couldn’t help but admire Foss’s skill level, as the writing is masterful.

Readers: READ THIS SERIES (and any by this author, truly).
Authors: Read this series to learn how it’s done; the art of writing seems to be one that Foss has completely slayed. I fear she’ll ruin me for other authors even.

    Note:
I listened to the audiobook, thanks to my local library offering it. Both narrators were amazing and added to the overall experience positively.

    3. Regally Bitten

“This was not a world I wanted to indulge; this was a world I wanted to change.”

I liked Luna right off the bat; she was a badass and had a way of eliciting feelings of rage (at the world she lives in) and awe (the writing) without distracting me from the reader experience all at once. Foss’s writing is some of the best I’ve ever found.

This one takes a bit of a different spin, in some ways, than books 1 & 2 in this series; I won’t say how, you’ll have to read it. But it’s hot.

It’s also packed with—in true Foss fashion—drama, corruption, violence, real feels, action and more. I couldn’t put this one down and I cannot wait to read or listen on in the series.

I listened to the audiobook, thanks to my library FINALLY lending it to me. Both narrators are great, would read more from both of them. The dual narration is awesome, adds to the reader experience. 5-star performance.

Overall, 5 stars for the sheer genius that went into this world.
