Daughter of Time tells the story of a young widow, Meg, healing from the pain of a brief, unhappy marriage, who falls through time into the Middle Ages — and into the arms of Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, the last Prince of Wales. He saves her, and she in turn saves him, thanks to her knowledge of future events. Although powerful forces seek to divide them, by working together, Meg and Llywelyn have a chance to navigate the dangerous and shifting alliances that constantly undermine his rule and threaten the very existence of Wales — and to create a future in which Llywelyn's death does not come too soon.Daughter of Time is a stand-alone novel within the world of the After Cilmeri series. Other books in the series include Footsteps in Time and Prince of Time.

I was expecting a romance, but really I'm not sure what category this book belongs to. Yes, there was insta-love (practically), but not even one sex scene! I admit I started this book because I'd gotten it for free and wanted a light read that was slightly raunchy.
The only reason I didn't set this book down as soon as the two main characters were together but I realized there weren't even going to be any hilarious sex scenes was because it was about Wales and I've never read anything set in Wales. So that was slightly interesting, but then it just got annoying because this was not a romance book, just a historical novel. Seems like the author just read a few books about Wales and decided to summarize the main points of about a year in the life of this Prince of Wales. Most likely due to my utter lack of knowledge on Wales, I found the political talk boring in this book--I was constantly wondering who each of the characters were and whose side they were on, same for the places and who ruled them but on whose land...

It was a bit of a waste, unfortunately, on the romance, character development, plot, and writing, but I guess it is probably at least a little historically accurate.
