When Maddy first meets Roland, it's hard for her to think of him as anything but a drunken, bossy, obnoxious jerk (that's exactly what he is at that point). She is sitting in the cafe and trying to study and Roland and his friends make that impossible. She stands up to them and tells him off. Later, she goes to her new job as a nanny and it's for none other than Roland. Needless to say, neither of them are sure this situation is going to work. Roland discovers that he likes poking at Maddy to get a reaction from her and he's also unable to ignore the sparks that fly! Roland is faced with a challenge to the custody of his challenge and he may be forced to choose between his child and his nanny. There is some major angst for a while, but there is a happily ever after.
