Life's Too Short (The Friend Zone, #3)

A brilliant and touching romantic comedy from the USA Today bestselling author of The Friend Zone and The Happy Ever After Playlist. When Vanessa Price quit her job to pursue her dream of traveling the globe, she wasn't expecting to gain millions of YouTube followers who shared her joy of seizing every moment. For her, living each day to its fullest isn't just a motto. Her mother and sister never saw the age of 30, and Vanessa doesn't want to take anything for granted. But after her half sister suddenly leaves Vanessa in custody of her baby daughter, life goes from "daily adventure" to "next-level bad" (now with bonus baby vomit in hair). The last person Vanessa expects to show up offering help is the hot lawyer next door, Adrian Copeland. After all, she barely knows him. No one warned her that he was the Secret Baby Tamer or that she'd be spending a whole lot of time with him and his geriatric Chihuahua. Now she's feeling things she's vowed not to feel. Because the only thing worse than falling for Adrian is finding a little hope for a future she may never see.

the characters were very nice and good, which is pleasant but not that interesting! Adrian the guy was sooo dependable and nice, which, is fine! The heroine was SO charming. Too charming!!!! jeez.

I did like their relationship development but the perfection of the characters took some of the tension away.

the climax/their fight made me cry and made my chest hurt which is why i will give it 4 stars!

I LOVED this book! Here are my thoughts :

    Things I liked :

♡ The first chapter had me HOOKED
♡ I really liked how the story wasn't super "out there." I feel like everything was pretty realistic, which I loved (compared to some other romances I've read).
♡ I was rooting for these two to get together from the very beginning!
♡ I loved how unfiltered Vanessa was & gave no f*cks lol
♡ It literally felt like I was in the room with them when they were talking & were getting to know each other = great writing skills & style
♡ I loved that Adrian was so helpful with Grace!!
♡ As a fellow Office lover, it was so awesome to see that they bonded over that!
♡ Their first kiss was suchhh a cute moment, it was definitely worth waiting 200+ pages for lol
♡ I was sooo happy that Adrian adopted Grace! It was definitely the best outcome for her
♡ Even though I had a feeling early on in the book that Vanessa didn't have ALS, I was so glad when it was revealed that her symptoms were from something else

    Things I didn't really like :

♡ I hated that Vanessa went out w/ Drake on that random date - I get it was for her channel or whatever, but I really thought for a second she was trying to make Adrian jealous for no reason lol
♡ It truly shocked me that Adrian didn't put the pieces together & figure out that Vanessa possibly had ALS - like dude even Vanessa was like how did you not know lol
♡ It really made me mad when Adrian got upset & literally broke off their relationship bc Vanessa didn't wanna go through treatment (if she had ALS) - like it's her decision, just enjoy the time you have with her!! (I'm glad he eventually came around though & they got back together)

    Overall Thoughts :

I didn't realize this book took place over Christmas so that was my fault lol, otherwise I would've saved it to read during the holidays. This is definitely one of my fav romances ever. I've never read a book that talked about physical disabilities so that was really interesting! I learned a lot about ALS that I didn't know! Everything that I wanted to happen between Adrian & Vanessa happened, and their story was super satisfying & heart-warming. Definitely will re-read it in the future!
