I have not read all of these, so I cannot be sure of the amount of the time on page of the sapphic characters or of the quality of the books.

Um, actually... is a list of books where the whole point went over people's heads. These novels handed readers a mirror and they wore it as a name badge instead. Always taking recommendations! (p.s. I am begging you to watch Um, Actually on Dropout TV... um, actually please watch anything/everything on Dropout TV)

these books use (literal) hunger as a political tool to speak to women’s oppression, repression and desire, whether through overt cannibal metaphor, speculative dispatches, or more subtle nuances of appetite in literary fiction. these women are hungry for something more, whether they’re allowed to act on it or not.

horror novels written by women about girls and women with deadly appetites. despite the title there is sapphic lit here i just liked the pun. these books focus on human cannibals, i.e. not supernatural monsters like vampires, werewolves, etc. is the cannibalism a metaphor for love? rage? sex? all of the above!
