Disability History
A collection of books that trace the history of disability, revealing how societies have understood, treated, and often marginalized disabled people over time. From shifting medical ideas to social movements for rights and inclusion, these works show how the past continues to shape the way disability is experienced today.
Much of the reseach and published work on disability history has traditionally centered on white, western persepctives which can overlook the experiences of disabled people of other cultures and regions. I'm open to suggestions and discovering more inclusive books to broaden the view and knowledge of our histories.
