In addition, Dabney Palmer Rankin discovers that the accident that killed her husband and injured her has triggered genetic memories where the past intrudes into the present. But, since everyone already thinks Dabney is already crazy this isn't something she is inclined to share. This is the first of a series of mysteries set on a southern plantation introducing a community unique to the region.
