Two newly widowed sisters, Dabney Palmer Rankin and Dr. Sophia Palmer Ransom use their grandfather's plantation to get a show on the Dishing It Network. Problem is they cannot cook! Caught up in the mystery of the deaths of the adoptive parents of long lost, newly found cousin Julio Estevez and the mysterious suicide of cousin Palmer Watson, Dabney acquires an arch enemy, a serial killer. Add to that mix Dabney's confusion over the romantic pursuit by the anesthesiologist for her colonoscopy and the interest shown by those gentlemen attending the Five O'Clock Somewhere Mint Julep Hour. In addition, Dabney Palmer Rankin discovers that the accident that killed her husband and injured her has triggered genetic memories where the past intrudes into the present. But, since everyone already thinks Dabney is already crazy this isn't something she is inclined to share. This is the first of a series of mysteries set on a southern plantation introducing a community unique to the region.
