I was just supposed to fake date my brother’s ex, not get her pregnant. She was supposed to be a one night stand until she appeared as my intern. Then I learned she was my brother’s ex and his demons intertwined us. Now I must protect her even if it means pretending to be in love. Touching is not allowed. But my joystick doesn’t get the memo. And we can’t keep our hands off each other. Everything is on the line: my business, our careers, and my relationship with my brother. We could be left with nothing but it’s worth the risk… especially now that I’ve learned she’s carrying my child.

August and Zade had a one-night stand, then Zade let his brother convince him that August was worthless and basically evil. He treated her like dirt and while she defended herself, it felt at times that he was being mean to her for fun, not because he was trying to make a point. Zade then overhears a conversation that makes him realize that he's been misled about the entire situation. He sets about making things right. Just when they start to trust each other again, August realizes that she is pregnant. Of course he thinks it's manipulative behavior again and there's a big blowup. Will these two ever be able to communicate and find a path to happily ever after?
Zade wasn't my favorite character through a lot of this story. He needs to grow up and accept the consequences of his actions and learn to think for himself. August told him the truth all along and he needed to realize that and accept that his actions had consequences.
