Scrounge and shear sheep and eventually embezzle money from her own dowry.
A Duke in training who suffers from difficulties reading and with sums discovers that a charge left to him has been forging his signature to obtain funds from her dowry. He has no idea how horrific the families situation is.
I really liked most of this book. The conflict seemed over the top and caused me to drop a star.
I did like all the characters. I have already read later books in the series.
